January Lare, Founder of EmpowerED to Thrive Consulting
Hi, I’m January Lare, founder of EmpowerED to Thrive Consulting.
If you’re a parent navigating special education, an educator trying to do right by your students, or someone who simply believes that every child deserves the support they need to succeed… you’re in the right place.
I’m a special education teacher, behavior consultant, and educational advocate with master’s level training in the field. For more than a decade I’ve worked alongside students with diverse learning and behavioral needs, helping them overcome barriers and reach their potential.
But my passion for this work isn’t just professional — it’s deeply personal.
As the guardian of a sister with an intellectual disability, and as a mom who built her family through foster adoption, I’ve seen firsthand how powerful the right support can be in a child’s life.
And I’ve also seen how confusing, overwhelming, and sometimes discouraging the system can feel for families and educators alike.
That’s why I created EmpowerED to Thrive. The goal of this work is to bring clarity, encouragement, and practical guidance to the world of special education.
We’ll talk about things like:
-
IEPs and 504 plans
-
executive functioning and learning differences
-
behavior and emotional support
-
helping children succeed at school and at home
-
and how families and schools can work together instead of feeling like they’re on opposite sides.
Because when adults collaborate with the child in mind, everyone wins.
